OUR OBJECTIVES
- To undertake research, publication, training and advocacy for enlightening the public with research-based knowledge and materials on national issues relevant to health of the community
- Collaborate with civil society organizations and other national and international HIV/AIDS stakeholders to strategically address HIV and AIDS in all thematic areas; Prevention, Care and Support, and meaningfully engage people living with HIV in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
- To mobilize communities to change attitudes and behaviours that fuels the spread of HIV and AIDS.
- To conduct different trainings, workshops, seminars and debates on Sexual and Reproductive Health issues in the community and link HIV/AIDS and Sexual and Reproductive Health with development strategies.
- Support and strengthen the institutional capacity of local organizations working on community health by promoting the establishment, review and implementation of policies and guidelines that could make them trustful and active.
- To collaborate with the government and other national and international organization to protect environmental degradation by employing all possible strategies.
- To mobilize communities to change attitudes and behaviours which cause violence against women; advocate for change within existing community structures to create a safe and supportive environment for women; build the capacity of community leaders to understand the impact of violence against women and motivate them to initiate change within their own environment that uphold women’s rights and priorities.
- To promote provide support for community development issues by supporting, empowering and recruiting local and international volunteers to engage in development activities where resources, including human and financial resources are inadequate.
- To collaborate with local and international development stakeholders and community members to build good houses for old and poor people in rural areas, with special emphasis to widows, orphans and other disadvantaged people.
- To collaborate with other development partners to provide legal literacy services in order to enhance and increase awareness of their civic rights and obligations.
- To support community development by providing skills and other necessary support for income generating activities, include but not limited to conducting trainings on entrepreneurship, microfinance and horticulture, in order to increase the household income and improve community health.
- To promote and engage citizen in budget review processes.
- To collaborate with national and international education stakeholders establish and maintain libraries, with special emphasis to rural areas, in order to promote quality education, skill development, learning and studying culture and complement the government strategies of providing quality education.
- To promote use of Information and Communication Technology for development by conducting training to different civil society organization, government and private school teachers and students, local government leaders and religious leaders in order to promote e-governance and complement the national and international strategies for the same.
- To contribute effectively towards ensuring that everyone, including marginalized people in Tanzania, such as people with disabilities, people living with HIV, homosexuals and injecting drug users without discrimination, is able to enjoy her or his right to quality social services, including but not limited to health and education services.
- To engage society through different events including but not limited to national and local seminars, symposia and workshops, to debate and make critical review and or formulation of public policies pertaining public health and development for the sake of broadening and deepening public consciousness in social well-being.
- To collaborate with local and international development partners to establish and or improve health infrastructures necessary to reduce maternal death and child death, and the strategy will include but not limited to provision of education and skill development; provision and installation of solar power devices to health centres and; provision and maintenance of ambulances.
- Promote and support sports for all members of society through different strategies including but not limited to establish, strengthen and support sport clubs for girls, women, girls, children, people with disabilities and old people.
- To promote and conduct Public Expenditure Tracking Surveys (Systems)
- To collaborate with different sectors, local and international, in order to increase public awareness about Human Trafficking, and implement strategies of combating it in Tanzania.
